At Vespers last night (Tuesday), the collect was:
Ascendant ad te, Domine, preces nostrae: et ab Ecclesia tua cunctam repelle nequitiam.
O Lord, may our prayers come up before thy presence, and do Thou mercifully rid thy Church of all wickedness.It struck me as the perfect prayer for these days of our poor Church. It seems that the wickedness within the Church is causing much more damage than the wickedness outside the Church. I was feeling pretty sad about that fact (just look at recent comments by Cardinal Dolan...), but this prayer gives me hope.
I think I will make it part of my litany of daily prayers!
Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me!
